The units at Hocking Hale are being renovated at a historic building in the Chinatown area that has previously been used for both commercial and residential purposes. This renovation will provide 3 stories of affordable housing units. Of the 40 proposed units, many of them are anticipated to be studio apartments, with some 1- and 2-bedroom units throughout. Anticipated amenities include a playground, a community meeting room, and a gym. Additionally, residents will have access to a picnic area and a computer with Internet access. Laundry facilities will also be available in the building. The rentals at Hocking Hale will be renovated and help to fulfill the need for affordable housing in Oʻahu.
