The development will consist of 2 towers, one with 39 stories and the other 18 stories, that includes a total of 625 affordable housing rentals. The units will be offered to those who earn between 30% to 100% of the area median income (AMI) and mix includes studios, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedrooms apartments.
The development will include various amenities like a pool, community gardens, dog park, a recreation/amenity deck with a pool and rooms, a kid's play structure, and more. Additionally, there will be a ton of parking offered with the first 9 floors of each building reserved for resident and visitor parking.
Note that this project will be a mixed-use development, so there are plans to build a pedestrian plaza with retail outlets and eateries.
Applications to rent at Pohukaina Commons will be reviewed first by the HHFDC. More details will be provided as we get closer to the start of construction in 2024.
