HPHA School Street Redevelopment Phase 1A

Phase 1A of the HPHA School Street Redevelopment plan will offer affordable studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom units to senior citizens. Units will range from around 334 through 808 square feet and are expected to be completed by early 2024. Each unit will include ENERGY STAR appliances, and the building will be secured with surveillance cameras and access via key. The building design plans include curbside drop off areas near the main lobbies and elevators with back-up generators in case of a loss of power. Amenities will be focused on common needs and interests of seniors and are proposed to include fitness and dance classes, arts and crafts classes, and seminars discussing topics related to wellness. Residents will also have access to a social service office, outdoor terraces, and a multi-function room. The planned recreation deck will provide plenty of space for activities and even includes a community kitchen.
